Lewis Hamilton’s Chinese GP winning chances little bit go down because he will get a five-place grid penalty for the gearbox change
Lewis Hamilton confirmed on Thursday that he will need a new gearbox for MP4-27, its meaning he will start from five-place down from the qualifying position. Hamilton said the damage to the gearbox was only picked up in last 48 hours.
Hamilton, who has started the first two races from pole position, is presently second in the championship behind Ferrari’s Fernando Alonso. Hamilton was won last year’s Chinese GP, is already on the back foot even before the weekend has begun.
