Ferrari restructured the 2012 technical and aerodynamic division with ex- McLaren employees. Ferrari have been well-heeled the pace of Red Bull last few seasons and the team have responded by making changes to their technical department over the past year or so.
Ex- McLaren Chief Engineer of Race Development Pat Fry was appointed Ferrari team as assistant technical director from 1 July 2011. Now he is technical director for the chassis division midway through 2011 and since then several former Woking employees have made their way to Ferrari.
Joe Saward’s says that – “a number of aerodynamicists, notably senior aerodynamicist Rupad Darekar, who has worked at McLaren for the last 10 years” have joined Ferrari.
