Perez target win world title with Ferrari

Sept. 16 – The Mexican F1 rookie Sergio Perez proved to be aggressive and quick in Ferrari with his driving performance through half day of testing at the Fiorano circuit.

The Sauber F1 driver is a member of the Ferrari Driver Academy and done 46 laps in the 2009 Ferrari F1 car at the test circuit on Yesterday morning.

The Ferrari driver academy head Luca Baldisserri says that Ferrari had pleased with Perez driving performance.

“Sergio [Perez] proved to be aggressive and quick right from the start and was able to adapt to the car in a very short space of time,” Baldisserri said. “He is very mature for his age, displaying an understanding that goes beyond the time he has spent driving single seaters.”

Following the testing session Sergio said his aim was to win the world championship with Ferrari.

“I think there is room for me to do well where I am and that’s my current target,” Perez said. “It’s impossible to say how things will go and my dream is to become World Champion and it would be nice if it could happen with a team like this one. I have got a lot out of this time with the Ferrari Driver Academy. The works on the simulator, the meetings with the engineers are all things that will help me over the rest of the season and in general in the future.”

Ferrari team principal Stefano Domenicali said about the Perez performance – I think he’s having a great season,” Domenicali is quoted by AS. “He will be a great race driver in formula one as he has started with a good approach and humility and he can grow a lot.”
