Hamilton tops Hungarian GP Friday opening practice

After his stunning victory at German GP, the British speedy has set best time for Hungarian GP first practice session. Lewis Hamilton led the way from Championship leader Sebastian Vettel and the Ferrari’s of Fernando Alonso.

Lewis Hamilton first took the top in the time-sheet just following half past ten, later resetting fastest time with his leading time of 1:23.350. With Vettel and Alonso divided by just 78 thousandths of a second, the Australian Mark Webber was fourth but ended his session in the garage after hitting the wet rumble strips and spinning into the Armco barriers at Turn 9, resulting in a broken front wing. McLaren’s Jenson Button and Felipe Massa fifth and sixth, the Mercedes cars of Nico Rosberg and Michael Schumacher rounded out the top eight.
