Mark Webber collects Hawthorn Memorial Trophy

July.13 – The Australian F1 veteran Mark Webber has been presented with the Hawthorn Memorial Trophy for his success in the 2010 F1 season, especially he won the Spanish, Monaco, British and Hungarian GP.

The Hawthorn Memorial Trophy has been awarded to the most successful British or Commonwealth F1 driver every year since 1959. Webber was given the honour by fellow Australian countryman Alan Gow, Chairman of the Motor Sports Association and Series Director of the BTCC.

He was collected the trophy following British GP qualifying on Saturday, in which he picked up pole position, Webber becomes the first Australian receiver since Alan Jones in 1981. He is also the first non-British driver to win the award since Jacques Villeneuve in 1997.
