Following a heavy shower in Silverstone, the Ferrari driver led the way from the Mercedes GP’s Nico Rosberg.
Nico Rosberg finished second, 0.777s down on the Ferrari driver, while Kamui Kobayashi was third for Sauber ahead of the two McLaren’s of Lewis Hamilton and Jenson Button.
The last time Jenson Button, Lewis Hamilton and Tonio Liuzzi had set lap times. Hamilton lastly put in a time but it was only good enough for P22. But, he did improve to 11th on his second flying lap. Button put in his first time, taking 11th off Button as Schumacher put his car into the P1 slot with a 1:52.325.
Sebastian Vettel and Fernando Alonso also ventured out. Vettel went P15 and Alonso P6. They improved to seventh and second places respectively.
