June.10 – The Australian Mark Webber admit his Red Bull team needs more speed to be at the front in the Canadian GP following a low-key start in practice. He finished in seventh position on Friday second practice, nearly a second at the back pace-setter Fernando Alonso.
But his team-mate Sebastian Vettel was second fastest, other than nearly four tenths off, admitted his team was still lacking speed.
“Fernando was quick but we need to get a bit more pace,” said Webber. “It was not too bad. We drove around and not quite quick enough yet. We did all our fuel loads – so we were pretty compromised with the red flags in the end. Not too bad – we need to chip away and get a bit quicker.
“We were all on a pretty good level, McLaren and Ferrari as well. The pace pretty close but we need to find a bit more pace at the moment.”
