No more penalties for contrite Hamilton – Jean Todt

June.09 – Formula 1 governing body (FIA’s) President Jean Todt has said that he received a written apology from Lewis Hamilton following the McLaren driver’s outburst in the consequences of the Monaco GP.

He gets two penalties, Lewis jokingly suggested that he was a aim of the stewards due to being black, referring to a pun from comedian Ali G. Having made the explanation in the FIA media pen before departing the paddock, Hamilton soon returned in order to apologise to the stewards, one of which was 2002 Toyota driver Allan McNish. Last week, the Englishman also requested forgiveness for his actions via social networking site Twitter.

“I could have asked the judicial court to address the problem but we never officially opened the case and he went with his father to the stewards to apologise,” Todt told The Times. He wrote to me and it was between him and the FIA. Maybe it would have been a better decision to send him to the judicial court and ban him for six Grands Prix or something. But for me this thing is over.”
