Official: Bahrain GP rescheduled on 2011 calendar

June.03 – F1 governing body the FIA has officially confirmed – Bahrain Grand Prix moved to October 30 on 2011 calendar. Following a World Motor Sport Council (WMSC) meeting in Barcelona on Friday, the Sakhir race has been moved to October 30, with new entrance India now taking an end-of-season slot on December 11.

Bahrain Grand Prix was listed to host the season-opening race in March 13. But, the race was delayed due to political conflict within the island kingdom, only for the event to be delayed due to civil unrest in capital city Manama. An early May date was then pencilled in for a final decision, only for this deadline to be extended to today’s WMSC gathering.

And it appears as if that is what will happen.
