McLaren F1 set up another brand-new front wing for the Turkish GP

Having debuted a brand-new front wing for the Turkish GP last time out, McLaren is now in the development of convey more new versions for this weekend’s eighth round of the championship in Montreal.

Even though the Working group enjoyed a second 1-2 finish of the season at Turkish GP, Montreal’s Circuit de Gilles Villeneuve need some of the most precise car setups of the calendar and Martin Whitmarsh believes that McLaren’s latest addition should make this easier to achieve.

“We have a new front wing again,” the Team Principal said on Tuesday. “We had a new one as part of the package in Istanbul, which didn’t work – we think we’ve understood that and so we’ve modified it and hopefully that will work.

“We have a few rear wing lower elements and some slight modifications to diffusers, etcetera; so we’ve got a reasonable aerodynamic package, which we hope will take us a few steps further forward.”
